I just signed up. Is it too late to rank?
No. Your first sync uploads your entire local history, not just usage from today. Tokens, sessions and active days from before you joined all count toward your profile and leaderboard rank. Chaim can only count history that still exists on your machine, so sync early.
Will I lose my account or my stats?
No. Your account is tied to your Google or GitHub sign-in, not to one computer, and your synced stats are stored on Chaim. Reinstalling, switching PCs or adding another machine won’t erase anything. Accounts are only removed if you delete yours in Account settings, and you have 30 days to cancel it. On a new or reinstalled computer, just run chaim login again.
Can other people see my plan or billing?
No. Your plan, renewal dates and billing are only shown to you when you’re signed in. Others only see the Bits badge next to your name.
Do I need the desktop app?
No. The CLI works today on Windows, macOS and Linux. The one-click desktop app, which syncs in the background without a terminal, is coming soon.
What does Chaim actually collect?
Only usage metadata: token counts per model, session and message counts, and daily activity, plus a machine ID and hostname to verify your devices. Your prompts, code and API keys never leave your machine. The CLI reads local logs and sends aggregated numbers only.
Which AI tools are supported?
Claude Code, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, Qwen Code, OpenCode, Cline, Roo Code, Kilo Code and Continue are tracked today. Chaim counts by tool, not by model, so any model you run through them counts too (GPT, Gemini, DeepSeek, Qwen, Llama, models on OpenRouter and local Ollama models used through Continue or Cline). Web chats like chatgpt.com or claude.ai keep no log on your computer, so they can’t be counted. For Ollama on its own, Chaim detects your installed models; token tracking is coming soon because Ollama keeps no usage log. Models are normalized, so the same model shows up once even if tools name it differently.
How do I sync my stats?
Install the CLI with npm install -g chaim-cli, then run chaim login. Your browser opens, you sign in with Google or GitHub and click Authorize, and your first sync runs on its own. After that, chaim sync updates your profile, or add the git hook so every commit does it. The Get started guide walks through each step.
Does Chaim count my commits or code I write by hand?
No. Chaim only counts what your AI tools log: tokens, sessions, messages and models. It never reads your commits, code, diffs or commit messages. The git hook just uses a commit as the moment to sync. If you coded by hand without AI and then committed, nothing new is added, because there was no new AI usage to count.
Can I keep my profile private?
Yes. You can hide token counts, session counts or your whole profile at any time in Account → Privacy. Unlisted profiles are excluded from rankings and embeds.
How does the free trial work?
Bits comes with a 7-day free trial and no card is required. You get every Bits feature right away. When the trial ends you can subscribe, or simply keep using the Free plan.
Can I cancel Bits anytime?
Yes. Bits is billed monthly or yearly and you can cancel whenever you like. You keep Pro features until the end of the period you paid for.
Can someone fake their numbers?
Each machine is fingerprinted and bound to a single account, so telemetry cannot be moved or replayed onto another profile.
